We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2025 International 3Rs Prize Ceremony, hosted by the NC3Rs and sponsored by GSK. This year's event will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday 23 July 2025, 14:00-15:00 (BST) and will be chaired by NC3Rs Board Chair, Professor Dame Julia Buckingham.

The ceremony will highlight this year's winning and highly commended researchers and the significant contributions their work has made to the advancement of the 3Rs in scientific research.

Prize winners:

Dr Carl Laflamme, Dr Riham Ayoubi and Dr Peter McPherson from McGill University, Canada – are recognised for their pioneering research into recombinant antibodies. Their work demonstrated that non-animal derived antibodies can offer superior performance and reproducibility compared to traditional animal-derived antibodies, with wide-reaching potential to replace animal use in biomedical research.

Highly commended:

Dr Renata N.C. Nundes from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Brazil, whose team has developed an in vitro method for antivenom potency testing. This approach offers a scientifically robust alternative to the use of mice in assays that typically involve severe suffering.

This event is an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research that is improving scientific outcomes and advancing the 3Rs in research and testing.

We hope you can join us to celebrate this impactful work and please do feel free to forward the invite on to other members of your team or institute.
